The Flintridge Singers will present a program of songs celebrating and honoring holiday traditions and meaningful friendships. Some highlights include an excerpt from Benjamin Britten's "Ceremony of Carols" featuring Angelina Wang on harp, a salute to our beloved pets, and a visit from Mr. Grinch! The 8th Grade Chorus and Instrumental Ensembles’ performances will include an arrangement of Bill Wither’s “Lean On Me” and will combine with the Flintridge Singers in a rousing rendition of the beloved Hawaiian song “Mele Kalikimaka”, featuring our newest librarian, Larry Mudica, on Ukulele.
The Orchestra Class will perform the Allegro movement of Haydn’s Mercury Symphony No. 43 as well as Florence Price’s The Old Boatman. The program continues with works inspired by dance including Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances and pieces by Borodin, Rimsky-Korsakoff, Satie, and Dvorak. Stay until the end for a trip to Brazil for a combined orchestra performance of "Tico Tico," a staple choro composition by Zequinha Abreu.
